Dirty Filthy Mugs – “All Yobs In” – (DC Jam Records) Every year come March I’ve received numerous Celtic influenced, beer soaked, get in a fight, not quite hardcore, Punk Rock. This year was no exception, except this year the bands that fit that description were all very good. As you can probably guess Dirty Filthy Mugs – “All Yobs In” is a Celtic influenced, beer soaked, get in a fight, not quite hardcore, Punk Rock album. With similarities to the Dropkick Murphy’s original style this album embraces their punk rock roots with a harmonizing balance of Celtic beats in songs such as; “All Yobs In”, “Frontline Hooligans”, & “Complete Conform”. This album also adds in some swaying bar room anthems such as “Good At Failure”, “Mugsy The Skin”, & “It’s Madness What Kept Me Sane” , The rest of  this twelve song album, are just straight up Celtic influenced, bass heavy, gravelly vocal, Punk Rock. “All Yobs In” sounds like a combination of The Dropkick Murphy’s and Rancid. Sure there are tons of bands out there doing this style of music; Dirty Filthy Mugs just do it better than most.  The only song on this album that I didn’t get into was; “All Yobs In” and that’s because it’s an instrumental track and I just can’t ever get into instrumentals. Otherwise this is a flawless album for this style of Celtic Influenced Punk Rock.

Actually it is so catchy, while I was driving home from work through the ghetto the other day with the stereo cranked up a hobo was bouncing along . “Dirty Filthy Mugs – “All Yobs In” -So good even the hobos dance along!”
