The Cold Beat/Movers & Shakers (split 7”) – If 1st impressions are anything, thisslab of 7” wax sure looks great. Oh if only a slick 1st impression could make up for the music that is on this beautiful record. Really it’s not that the music is badly done, it’s not the kind of music I listen to. The Cold Beat has more of an Indie/Alernative rock sound, while Movers & Shakers is more of a grassroots rock band. Both have some musical resemblance to a contemporary Replacements. Like a pulled together College Indie Rock sound. Not my thing at all, but I can hear where some folks might be into this kind of stuff.
