New Real Disaster – “.Start” (Power 90 Records) This is one of the best bands that most of the readers have never heard of. New Real Disaster is an Italian female fronted Power Pop/Punk band with a laid back flowing style that leaves you humming their songs the rest of the day. The only reason you haven’t heard them is that they don’t have any distro deals in North America….yet (but if you want to help them out send them an email). The song writing is upper level good with tons of variation never a stale or dull moment in any of their songs. There are handfuls of solid bridges, break down, & hooks that are masterfully put together for an explosive sound. They’re aren’t many female fronted punk bands out there that have the sound and presents of New Real Disaster, so I can’t really say they sound like anyone else. The only negative I can find is that at times New Real Disaster’s Singer’s (Giusy Disaster) pronunciation of words is a little off, but it’s only noticeable in a few songs. This is an album that you should check out for yourself, it is well worth the purchase.
