The Grandprixx “Prixxology” - Like The Grandprixx or not, you sure get your money worth with this CD (how you can’t like them I don’t know?). Jesus Christ, I didn’t think a CD could hold this many songs. Forty-two songs in all totalling 1.2 hours of high speed pop punk from The Grandprixx from 1998 – 2001. This CD as I’m sure you can demise is a single disc discography of the releases from The Grandprixx.(all written by The Grandprixx except, “Get Around”) I had heard of The Grandprixx, but never actually heard them until now and after hearing them I want them to get back together. If you’re unaware the band consisted of many members, but the one mainstay was Jay Prozac (Now of the Prozacs) and as much as I like The Prozacs, I think Jay’s most entertaining work may have been with The Grandprixx. The Prozacs sound like a mellower, less intense version of The Grandprixx or The Grandprixx on Prozac if you will.
Each song on “Prixxology” is a spastic ball of energy and fury with youthful enthusiasm thrown in that is just so genuine and exciting to listen too. If you were ever a member of or close friends with a punk band in your youth, this album is guaranteed to bring back the crazy memories of the those days; before all responsibility of adulthood. If you’re a fan of sped up pop punk in anyway, this album is a must have for any pop punk collection.
