Bomb Town – “?!INTERROBANG?!”

Bomb Town – “?!INTERROBANG?!” – Self described as; “Aggressive mix of ska, reggae, dancehall all fused into one diabolical plot to keep you movin” I would describe half of their songs as reggae/dancehall containing very little Ska. I don’t hear Ska at all, but since they’re all white and from New Jersey (honesty I wouldn’t have known they were white or from anywhere but Jamaica, unless I saw their band photo). That being said there are a few songs sprinkled into the mix that have heavy NYHC influence with a Ska backbeat. So I would really describe them as two different bands? One reggae band that does what they do very well, and a Hardcore Ska band that will rip you to threads. I don’t really know what reggae is supposed to sound like other than the occasional Peter Tosh and Bob Marley I’ve heard. As far as reggae goes they sound to me to be pretty decent and put it all together with a good combination of rhythm, and bouncy beats. I’m not a fan of reggae so I can’t really judge other than to say they sound to be good at what they do. Bomb Town lists punk bands such as “The Business, Murphy's Law, Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Rancid” as influences and during their Ska songs “Undertaker”, “Acid Rain dance”, “Chop Shop”, & “Beer Sluts” you can easily hear a heavy dose of Agnostic Front influence infused with the tropical beats of Jamaica. Overall Bomb Town is an extremely talented band that can sway you into a reggae trance or bomb your brain with 100 MPH punk rock. www.myspace.com/bombtown
